Should the water be released?
If you own Lake LBJ real estate or are thinking about purchasing waterfront property on Lake LBJ, here is some information you may be interested in. As you may know, the water in Lake LBJ is usually released down stream providing an opportune time for waterfront property owners on Lake LBJ to clean their boat docks and the area around their waterfront homes.
Last year, the LCRA Board voted to not release the water downstream based upon the health and safety needs of the people that live in the Highland Lakes area. That same board voted to allow the water to be released possibly causing surrounding lake levels to decrease. As you know we had no appreciable rainfall or increase in lake levels which raises the question as to why the “go ahead” to release. In fact, the only directors to vote against the release are those that live in the area and actually understand the implications of such action. The Board’s recommendation will be presented to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for final approval.
If you have an opinion on this we recommend you write an email to the Executive Director voicing your opinion. Below is his contact information. I would love to see some comments from anyone that has an opinion as I know there can be pros and cons to both sides.

306 Problems, Don’t Let Pricing Be One!
Currently there are 306 active, waterfront homes on Lake LBJ for sale ranging from $69,000 to $7.9 million. If you are even considering the sale of your home you must first understand the mentality of the buyer (and rightfully so). The buyer has options when it comes to Lake LBJ Real Estate. 306 of them to be exact. The buyer is smarter with their money and is looking for a good investment because there exists supply.
Good properties on lake LBJ will sell fast if they are priced right. Good properties on Lake LBJ will take a very long time to sell and will sell for much less than they are worth if they are priced wrong.
Take a moment to browse through some of these waterfront listings on Lake LBJ (if you even need to) to understand that there is a good amount of inventory and if you want to sell, you must make your property attractive to the waterfront buyer. Deer Repellant Experiment – Cont’d
It worked! A few weeks back I purchased “Liquid Fence – Deer and Rabbit Repellant” from Home Depot in attempt to keep the deer from camping out on my lawn in Granite Shoals (Lake LBJ Real Estate). I actually did two applications about 2 weeks apart and so far I have not seen any deer in my yard. I am going to continue to apply the chemical just to make sure but its hard because I now have a small puppy. Nonetheless I am very pleased with the outcome of this experiment and I can recommend this product.
In my opinion, keeping your yard clear of deer is very important to protect your landscape. Having quality landscape on your waterfront property is a great way to increase the value of your Lake LBJ Real Estate.
