The “Transition” on Lake LBJ

Posted by in Kingsland, Lake LBJ Real Estate on Feb 22, 2024

One of my favorite parts of Lake LBJ is a stretch of water that I like to call “The Transition” which is the portion of the lake in between the main body and the confluence of the Colorado River and the Llano River.  Here you will find a very low density of development with large swaths of ranch land lining both sides of the lake.  The natural shoreline on both sides almost eats the waves making for much more calm and ideal for water sports.  Because of the lack of development you will also find abundant wildlife here which is always nice.  I have been told by a reputable source that prior to the formation of the Highland Lakes system there was a natural waterfall on the Colorado River in this area which was a major crossing point for native inhabitants.  This is likely the reason why you will find the Nightengale Archealogical Center owned by the LCRA which is where they have found artifacts dating back as early as 10,000 years ago.

When searching for your dream piece of Lake LBJ Real Estate its critical to understand the differences in areas.
